Poem: Owl's Rock

An owl likes to hoot
And scratch with their talons
They also like to ruffle their feathers when they go to sleep.
Oh, owls rock, owls rock, owls rock hurray!
They have big yellow eyes and some talons and a beak
Oh, owls rock, owls rock, owls rock hurray!
They're dirty and stinky too
And a bit dusty!

My Blog Post for Parkland School Division

There's a web site called Parkland School Division 184 Project.  You get to see a whole bunch of blogs by kids and teachers of all ages and different schools.  I was asked by my teacher to put a post on there so I did just about an hour ago.

You should check it out sometime.

And here it is if you want to read it.

I like history that’s why I’m doing Story of the World.  I’ve been doing it for about 2 Months now.  Also I made a time line on my wall.  It’s cool, and I’m still working on it.
I’ve learned about different types of ancient leaders.  One is called a dictator.  Dictators are nasty.  I mean Shamshi-Adad.  He ruled Assur.  Assur was in Mesopotamia by Babylon, near the Tigris and Euphrates rivers.  This is from the story Shamshi-Adad King of the Whole World.  Every time a new government lived beside each other, one of them would try and take over the other.  That’s how they would get the government bigger.  That’s why Shamshi-Adad thought he was king of the whole world, because he conquered most of Mesopotamia.
Hammurabi was a fair leader.  Hammurabi was very arrogant and judgmental.  He was also the ruler of Mesopotamia.  He made the Code of Hammurabi in about 1780 B.C.E.  It was the first set of written laws that we know of.  The laws are astounding because everybody had to follow them.

I like doing history because you spend a lot of time on it, you get to make predictions, you can think it over and you get to build stuff.

NOMADS

About 6000 B.C.

Nomads settled as farmers in the Fertile Crescent. They had to find a way to get water to their crops.  This contraption I made shows how to get water to plants.  This is my idea.

first I drew a picture.  I call it the water deliverer.  The Nomads needed to get water to their crops without them dying.  If they did not get water to them they'd have to move to a new spot.
There's a river called the Tigris river in the Fertile Crescent.

There'd be two fences on either side of a passage, and they would have to build passages first through the crops and around the crops.  There'd be a piece of wood in the channel and all they had to do was lift the piece of wood and the water would pour out of the river and into the channels to the crops and it can feed the crops and you wouldn't have to do so much work.

then I built it.  I built it with modelling clay, a plastic bowl and some popsicle sticks on a cutting board.  I filled the bowl up with water and then lifted a black modelling clay ball and the water went threw my passages.  And that's how my little water deliverer works.

Back to Home School

Today its my first day back to home school after summer holidays.
I'm not so used to it because my big brother was homeschooling with me for the last two years and now he  goes to real school and I'm doing home school.  it''s kind of hard because my ( loud little brother Sam) keeps interrupting me.  the good is that  my mom and I get some time alone because my little brother Sam is going to play school and I'm going to be doing homework.  And there you go I will be writing another blog soon.

This is the song I listened to when I was making my first blog.  Go ahead and listen to it.
